What is Metal 3D Printing

 

SLM (Selective Laser Melting) or DMLS is an additive manufacturing process that uses a high-power laser to fully melt and fuse metal powders into dense, functional parts with excellent mechanical properties.

How Metal 3D Printing Works

 

The 3D Printer begins sintering each layer-first the support structures to the base plate, then the part itself, with a laser aimed onto a bed of metallic powder. After a cross-section layer or powder is micro-welded, the build plate shifts down and a recoater blade moves across the platform to deposit the wissenschaftliche hausarbeit englisch next layer of powder into an inert build chamber.
